**EDIT**
I'm off to China today (June 20th) until Tuesday, July 1st. All print orders will be processed and shipped when I return. I will be checking my email once in a while if you need to get a hold of me urgently. Lots to post when I return and hopefully I'll even do a little sketchbook drawing too...

I'm a little late in posting this, but an interesting assignment for the New York Times Book Review. The assignments for the Book Review are always really hard (for me) mostly because the illustrations need to be pretty conceptual and still look good. Anyways, this one for the book "Bush's Law". The book discusses various stories of people that have somehow been affected by the Bush administration's legal "wrangling". From the new laws on wiretapping, torture to wrongful imprisonment...all in the name of preserving American liberty. I thought this especially relevant in light of the recent historic Supreme Court ruling (in favor of Guantanamo Detainee's to receive fair trial). I think you can sort of read the article if you click on the image.
Jeff Stein who wrote this article made comparisons to Steven King's "Misery" and "Cujo". So I was asked to create something scary and still appropriate. After reading the brief I starting drawing sketch ideas and immediately thought of Stanley Kubrick's "A Clockwork Orange", especially that crazy brainwashing scene. You can checkit on that youtube link below.
Anyways thanks to Jennifer Daniel and Nicholas Blechman for a challenging assignment. Go Freedom!
